asked the Secretary of State for the Environment on what date the public inquiry into the proposed new prison building at Woolwich Arsenal will be held and where; who will preside over it; and what opportunity will be given to members of the public to express their views.

My right hon. Friend has appointed Mr. S. A. E. Reese LLB (Hons.), LMRTPI to conduct a non-statutory inquiry into this proposal, starting at 10.30 am on Tuesday 2 March in the Town Hall, Wellington Street, Woolwich, London SE18. All persons interested are invited to attend or to be represented to express their views on the proposal.
