HC Deb 18 January 1982 vol 16 c34W
Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if, in view of the usefulness of the "Dracone" to the Falkland Islands Government, as in the recent case where its use enabled fresh water to be supplied to the Polish factory ship "Gryt Pomorski" at Port Stanley, he will now donate the "Dracone" to the Government of the Islands instead of requiring it to be brought back to the United Kingdom by HMS "Endurance" in the spring of 1982.

Mr. Blaker

No. There is a continuing defence requirement for the "Dracone" in the United Kingdom.
