§ Mr. Douglasasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has had any consultations with the South of Scotland Electricity Board with regard to the use of coal-fired power stations, such as Kincardine, being used to supply power to the British Aluminium smelter on a similar basis to the Alcan smelter in England.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherMy officials have met the South of Scotland Electricity Board on several occasions to consider alternative ways of providing power to re—open the Invergordon smelter including the use of a coal—fired power station.
