asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what dental services are available at hospitals in south-west London.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Dental services are provided at the following hospitals in south-west London:

Out-patient

  • Queen's hospital, Croydon
  • Mayday hospital, Croydon
  • Normansfield hospital, Teddington
  • South London hospital for Women and Children, Clapham Common

ii 1 January 1976 to 31 March 1977: The cost of treatment up to a maximum of £3.50 per course of treatment, except for dentures and bridges which were charged as follows:

Denture or bridge replacing one to three teeth 5.40
Denture or bridge replacing four to eight teeth 6.00
Denture or bridge replacing more than eight teeth 6.60

Maximum charge for more than one denture or bridge, or for a course of treatment including dentures or bridges and other items, £12.00

iii From 1 April 1977, as in the following table:

In-patient

  • Croydon General
  • Carshalton war memorial

Out and In-patient

  • Queen Mary's, Roehampton
  • St. James's, Balham
  • St. George's, Tooting
  • St. Helier, Carshalton
  • Sutton hospital
  • Queen Mary's Carshalton
  • Kingston hospital
