49. Mr. Allen McKay

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received during the previous six months about the future of "CHC News".

I refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe (Mr. Morris) on 22 January.—[Vol. 16, c.207]. We have since received representations from a further 25 hon. Members, 23 of them in support of, and two opposed to, continued central funding for "CHC News", and from a further 14 community health councils, the Patients Association, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, a former editor of "CHC News", two members of shadow DHAs, and the Centre for Extension Training in Community Medicine, all in favour of central funding.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations with community health councils have taken place about the future of "CHC News".

61. Mr. Tinn

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what will be the grants towards the publication of "CHC News" during 1982–83.
