§ Mr. EyreCapital investment in the railway is not financed directly by PSO grant, but the consequent depreciation and interest charges are taken into account in calculating grant payments for passenger services. The total external finance being made available to the Board is enough to enable them to continue with electrification of the main line to Norwich, on which work has already begun and is expected to be completed in 1987.
