§ 16. Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will adopt the proposals of the National Farmers Union of Scotland for an agricultural development programme for the Highlands and Islands and seek the implementation of these proposals through the European Community.
§ Mr. John MacKayMy right hon. Friend hopes shortly to meet representatives of regional and islands councils, and of the union, at their request, to discuss possible ways of offering further assistance to agriculture in the Highlands and Islands, including the proposals put forward by the union in July 1981.
