HC Deb 06 December 1982 vol 33 c367W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs for how long official communications from other Governments are retained by his office before being deposited as public records; whether this procedure applies to all such communications; and whether any change in this practice has been made since 1 May.

Mr. Onslow

Official communications from other Governments are dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Public Records Acts 1958 and 1967. These do not allow for any change in practice.
