HL Deb 02 August 1982 vol 434 c669WA
Lord Houghton of Sowerby

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they updated the Brambell Report.

Earl Ferrers

As indicated in response to a separate question from the noble Lord today, the Farm Animal Welfare Council has advised the Government on the revision of the codes of recommendations on pigs, cattle, domestic fowls and turkeys. It has also recommended the introduction of new regulations for the control of certain mutilations of farm animals. The council is now beginning to consider what further regulations may be necessary. The advice provided by the council is enabling the Government to fulfil their commitment to update the Brambell Report.
