HL Deb 02 August 1982 vol 434 c663WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they intend to publish their leaflet offering guidance on safety measures to be taken by walkers on public rights of way which cross a field where there is a bull, and whether they expect the leaflet to repeat the advice given by the Government in 1917, to the effect that people being attacked by bulls should be on the ground and shake their legs in the air.

The Earl of Avon

It will be published as soon as the discussions presently taking place between Government departments and the Health and Safety Executive on the scope of the guidance and the subsequent consultations with interested bodies have been completed.

I cannot at this stage comment on the exact nature of the guidance.
