HC Deb 23 April 1982 vol 22 cc169-70W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the future funding of the urban aid programme in Scotland to keep it in step with the changes announced by his right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment for additional funding for England.

Mr. Allan Stewart

I am examining how the urban programme might do more to attract private resources to the task of urban renewal. The existence of the Scottish Development Agency means that the Scottish urban programme does not need to mirror precisely the programme in England. My right hon. Friend's recent announcement earmarked funds out of the provision to be made for the urban programme and derelict land reclamation in England.
