§ Mr. WhitelawThe only experiments now in progress are taking place in Scotland, and are therefore the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, who recently announced their extension to police stations in Glasgow and Aberdeen.—[Vol. 20, c.99.100.] I still have under consideration the best way of carrying forward the recommendation made by the Royal Commission on Criminal Procedure that in England and Wales interviews at police stations with persons suspected of crime should be tape recorded.
