§ Mr. WhitelawNo. I have already recognised the special position of the police authority by agreeing to Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary and to Mr. Byford answering any questions from them arising from the report which relate to the efficiency of the force. A meeting for this purpose took place on 19 February.
