Mr. Parry asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will list in the Official Report the organisations which have written to him suggesting an increase in the youth opportunities programme allowance; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if his Department has received any proposals for an increase in youth opportunities programme allowances by the Manpower Services Commission.

A number of organisations have written to me, or to my predecessor, proposing an increase in the youth opportunities programme allowance this year. These include the Manpower Services Commission. The organisations are as follows:
