HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c405W

Mr. David Steel asked the Lord Privy Seal what reduction is being made in British teachers of English in Swaziland under Overseas Development Agency contracts.

Mr. Neil Marten:

The ODA supports two English teachers at secondary schools and five posts at tertiary level institutions. The Swaziland Government will localise the secondary school posts by August 1983. Plans for localising the tertiary level posts at the university college and college of technology are less clear, but, depending upon Swaziland Government priorities, support for some of these posts may continue beyond 1984.
