§ Mr. Teddy Taylor asked the Lord Privy Seal if Her Majesty's Government have been approached by the United States Government about providing armed forces to join the Sinai peacekeeping force provided for in the Camp David agreement; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Hurd: Along with a number of other Western countries we have been asked by the United States Government to provide a contribution to the Sinai peacekeeping force. We have been discussing this request with our European partners in the light of the common Eurpean policy towards the Middle East set out in the Venice declaration and later statements by the Ten. A statement will be made once a final decision has been reached. I hope this will be soon.
