HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c413W

Dr. Summerskill asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he has given to the amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act suggested to him by the Equal Opportunities Commission; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Raison:

The proposed amendments, some of which have far—reaching implications, are receiving the careful consideration they deserve. Earlier this year my right hon. Friend discussed them with the commission's chairman, and consultations have taken place between the commission, the Home Office and other Government Departments. I understand that the commission is now giving further consideration to its proposals and consulting other organisations on their implications.
