HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c434W

Mr. David Steel asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will ensure that the current levels relating to the hill livestock compensatory allowances for the hills and uplands will not be diminished; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Younger:

My right hon. Friends and I are currently reviewing the economic situation in the hills and uplands with a view to determining the rates of hill livestock compensatory allowances to be paid next year. We shall issue a decision as soon as possible.
