§ Mr. Iain Millsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek to legislate to limit annual increases in service charges made on rented accommodation.
§ Mr. Stanley:Schedule 19 to the Housing Act 1980 already imposes limitations on the amount of a variable service charge payable by the tenant of a flat. The service charges provisions of schedule 19 are described in the Department's booklet "Service Charges in Flats" a copy of which I am sending to my hon. Friend.
