§ Mr. Ian Lloydasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a table giving a detailed breakdown of the item "subsidies and grants£38.6 billion" given in 348W table 2 of the article "Public Money" in Issue No. 137 of the Treasury economic progress report, classifying individually any item over £5 million to any single recipient, under the following headings: local authorities, nationalised industries—by industry—other partly of wholly owned public authorities or organisations, private organisations or companies in which the State has less than 50 per cent. of the issued share or debenture capital, other organisations, individuals and bodies.
§ Mr. Brittan[pursuant to his reply, 22 October 1981, c. I69]: Information on current grants and subsidies by individual recipients is not held centrally. The following table gives more detail of the items concerned.
