HC Deb 26 October 1981 vol 10 c247W

Mr. Woolmer asked the Secretary of State for Industry (1) what plans he has to implement any of the points raised in the Werner report on the woollen and worsted sector of the textile and garment making industries;

(2) whether he intends to publish the Werner report on the woollen and worsted sector of the textile and garment making industries in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy; and, if so, when it will be available to the public.

Mr. MacGregor:

The report is still the subject of discussion between my Department and the Confederation of British Wool Textiles and I shall reach no conclusions about it until these discussions have been completed. The report is very long and of a specialised nature and I do not think that the cost of publishing it would be justified. A copy is available in the Library of the House.
