What progress has been made with the preparation of a new directive to expand and develop Directive 77/489 of the EEC regarding the transport of farm animals.

Directive 81/389/ EEC which develops the provisions of Directive 77/489/EEC was adopted by the Council of Ministers on 12th May 1981.
