§ Mr. David Atkinson asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has to amend the shorthold tenancy provisions in the Housing Act 1980 to allow the rent to be freely agreed between landlord and tenant.
§ Mr. Stanley:I refer my hon. Friend to the Protected Shorthold Tenancies (Rent Registration) Order 1981 which has been laid in draft before Parliament under section 52(4) of the Housing Act 1980.
