§ Mrs. Renée Short asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North East on 4 June, if the review of the functions, constitution and methods of work of the Schools Council has yet been completed; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. Boyson:Mrs. Nancy Trenaman presented her report on the Schools Council to my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Education and Science and for Wales, and to the local authority associations, at the beginning of this month. It is now being printed and will be published very shortly. My right hon. Friends are considering its recommendations with a view to reaching an early decision, in consultation with the other addresses, on the future of the council.
