Mr. Morgan asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that some replies from his Department to correspondence from the hon. and learned Member for Denbigh on general matters requiring no investigation have taken upwards of three months, whether he will ensure that such delays are avoided in the future.

Sir Geoffrey Howe:

I regret the delays that do from time to time occur in replying to written inquiries. But I can assure my hon. and learned Friend that every endeavour is made to deal with correspondence as quickly as possible.
