§ Mr. Freeson asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his reply to the right hon. Member for Brent, East on 6 July, Official Report, c. 15 if he is yet able to a statement concerning the allocation of a frequency for a Carfax service.
§ Mr. Whitelaw:I am not yet in a position to make a statement. Discussions between the Government and the BBC on the question of a permanent frequency for a Carfax service are continuing, but there are particular difficulties in finding a frequency that would be both suitable for the proposed service and available under the international radio regulations on a permanent basis.
