HC Deb 21 October 1981 vol 10 cc151-2W

Mr. McQuarrie asked the Secretary of State for Energy what discussions he has had with the Occidental Oil Company on the proposals to set up a plant at Peterhead in the East Aberdeenshire constituency using gas-feed stock for manufacturing purposes; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gray: I appreciate my hon. Friend's concern. As he knows, my right hon. Friend and I maintain close contact with oil companies, among other things about the prospects for industrial development related to United Kingdom continental shelf hydrocarbons. It would not be appropriate for me to give any specific details about a particular company's plans.
