§ 4. Mr. Temple-Morris asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about progress towards a decision upon a Channel tunnel project.
§ Mr. David Howell:Last month's Anglo-French summit meeting commissioned joint studies by officials from both countries to determine whether a scheme could be developed which would be beneficial to both countries. Those studies will be pursued as quickly as the complexities of the issue allow with the aim of an early decision in principle by both Governments.
