HC Deb 19 October 1981 vol 10 c36W
Mr. Cryer

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will refuse to submit for approval any legislation from the Channel Islands which incorporates discrimination in housing or any other area against employees working in the islands on a temporary job or on a contract of a fixed term; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mayhew:

All legislation submitted by the islands authorities is carefully considered before a decision is reached whether Royal Assent should be recommended. We see no reason to vary this procedure for particular areas of legislation.
