§ Mr. MayhewIn 1978 the European Commission of Human Rights ruled that Guernsey's existing housing laws do not contravene the European Convention on Human Rights. Consideration of the 1981 draft Law, which is based on the existing legislation but with some amendments, will have regard to the requirements of the European Convention and is proceeding as quickly as possible.
