asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will publish in the Official Report the letter of 10 November sent to the hon. Member for Horsham and Crawley by his hon. Friend the Minister for Social Security, on the costs of lowering the pension age.

The letter was as followsFurther to my letter of 20 October about the costs of reducing minimum pension age for men, a re-examination of the effects of change on taxation has resulted in marginal changes to those estimates which I then provided. I therefore attach a revised note which incorporates these changes and also provides more information on the estimated effects of variant assumptions on the question of job replacement. These revised estimates accord with those which the Department has submitted in evidence to the Social Services Select Committee for the Committee's study of pension age.
