asked the Secretary of State for Employment what discussions he plans to have with union representatives on contract cleaners.

I shall be meeting the TUC and representatives of the unions concerned to discuss the report later this month.

Mr. Strang

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what steps he proposes to take following the publication of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service report on the contract cleaning industry.

Since the report was published, my right hon. Friend has sought the views of organisations of employers and workers, and other interested parties on the report and its conclusions. As part of this consultation, I shall be meeting the TUC and the unions concerned.
