Mr. Ernie Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has studied the letter to him from the Educational Institute of Scotland of 23 October on the administration of the teachers' pension scheme in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Allan Stewart

My right hon. Friend has seen a letter on this subject which the Educational Institute of Scotland has sent to him and to other Scottish Members of Parliament. With regard to the administration at the teachers' superannuation scheme in Scotland, I refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Fife, East (Mr. Henderson) on 29 October 1981.—[Vol. 10, c. 436.]
