Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what consideration he has given to appointing a representative of the National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers to the Burnham Further Education Committee in view of the fact that it has nearly 2,000 members employed full-time and in further education and 12,000 members employed part-time in further education.

§ Dr. BoysonThe main criteria are the numbers of teachers in England and Wales who are in membership of the various associations seeking representation on the Burnham committees, and the extent to which those associations represent distinctive groups of teachers. But my right hon. Friend would not wish to exclude any other relevant considerations which might be brought to his attention.
