§ Mr. Lathamasked the Prime Minister why, in view of the senior ministerial representation from the United States of America, France and the Federal Republic of Germany at the funeral of the late General Moshe Dayan in Israel, the representation by the United Kingdom involved no Ministers, nor Her Majesty's ambassador.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government had wished to send a Minister to attend General Dayan's funeral, but this was unfortunately not arranged in time. The British Ambassador was absent from Tel Aviv on local leave. During the weekend in question he was out of contact with the embassy, in a remote part of the southern Sinai. The Government were therefore represented at General Dayan's funeral by the British counsellor and consul general.
