§ Mr. RifkindIn 1979–80 the Post Office in Scotland issued 217,350 dog licences on behalf of local authorities. The amount collected was £83,774. The cost of collection was £162,578, and the resulting deficit was £78,804. This deficit was met by the Scottish Office.
