HC Deb 29 June 1981 vol 7 cc299-300W
8. Mr. Porter

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will make a statement about trading prospects in Scandinavia following his recent visit.

Mr. Biffen

My recent visit to Sweden, Norway and Finland gave me the opportunity to discuss with the Governments of those countries global trading questions of mutual interest, as well as our bilateral trade relations, which are excellent. I also discussed with them, and with members of the business communities, the prospects for increased trade. British exporters should be well placed to take advantage of the opportunities in these markets which enjoy a relatively high standard of living.
