HC Deb 29 June 1981 vol 7 c300W
10. Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is his latest estimate of the cost to the Civil Aviation Authority, his Department and to the airlines of the air traffic controllers' strike.

Mr. Eyre

Loss of revenue to the Civil Aviation Authority has mainly been in the form of fees for landing and for aerodrome navigation services. Up to 19 June this has been of the order of £350,000. There has been no significant extra cost to the Department of Trade. Losses by the airlines are likely to be substantial, but full details are not yet available.
