§ Sir Ian GilmourMy right hon. and noble Friend and the French Minister for External Relations covered a wide range of European Community and foreign policy issues at their first meeting since M. Cheysson came to office. The two Foreign Ministers also took the opportunity to reaffirm their belief in the value of developing even closer relations between France and the United Kingdom and expressed their wish for regular exchanges of view and closer co-operation in all fields and at all levels.
