§ Mr. John Patten[pursuant to his reply, 17 April 1981]: The pay scales which applied to qualified primary school teachers, other than principals or vice-principals, in 1971 and the pay scales which now apply are set out in the following tables.
These are not directly comparable because salary scales were restructured in 1974 on the recommendation of the Houghton committee.
