§ Dr. VaughanWhen the Department is alerted to a problem over the supply of essential medicines, vaccines or other preparations, everything possible is done to find a source of supply or to encourage the manufacture of the material. Costs reasonably incurred by a company which manufactures medicines, including research and development costs, are, where applicable, taken into account under the pharmaceutical price regulation scheme. If the hon. Member has a particular problem in mind I should be grateful if he would let me know.
