HC Deb 18 June 1981 vol 6 cc395-6W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will take action to strengthen the present bankruptcy laws so as to prevent the present practice whereby persons arrange to go into bankruptcy, but just before doing so, set up family trusts or pass over their property and assets to their wives and families and thus deprive their creditors of the chance of attaining any of the moneys due to them.

Mr. Eyre

I shall reply to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
