HC Deb 16 June 1981 vol 6 c334W
17. Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what recent representations he has received about the impact of Government public expenditure cuts on higher education; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Boyson

The impact of the Government's public expenditure policies on higher education has been the subject of representations from Members of both Houses, the bodies which represent higher education interests and others. The implications of the Government's plans for higher education are at present being discussed with the University Grants Committee and the local authority associations.
