§ Mr. Winnickasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give a detailed breakdown, by category, of the registered vacancies now available in the Walsall travel-to-work area.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonThe following table gives the number of notified vacancies remaining unfilled in the Walsall travel-to-work area at 8 May analysed by order of the 1968 standard industrial classification. Vacancy statistics relate only to those notified to employment offices and careers offices; vacancies notified to employment offices are estimated to be about one-third of all vacancies in the country as a whole. The number of vacancies unfilled on a particular date takes no account of the flow of vacancies being notified, filled or withdrawn during the preceding month, which may reflect activity more closely.
