§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority's proposals to carry out movements of radioactive materials by sea were the subject of a thorough overall safety assessment by the Health and Safety Executive before they were agreed by Ministers. This assessment included an appraisal by the authority's safety and reliability directorate of the consequences of loss of, or damage to, a container. The Health and Safety Executive report was published in March 1980 and a copy placed in the Library of the House.
