HC Deb 10 June 1981 vol 6 c152W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what the unemployed figures in the special development areas in Northern Ireland were at the latest date; what they were in May 1979; and what percentages these figures represent.

Mr. Adam Butler

There is no special development area in Northern Ireland. Nevertheless, in recognition of the Province's economic disadvantages, the industrial incentives available throughout Northern Ireland are higher than those obtainable in the special development areas in Great Britain.
