HC Deb 09 June 1981 vol 6 cc84-5W
Q36. Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Prime Minister what is the Government's principal priority for action over the next three years.

The Prime Minister

The Government's overriding objective is to turn the economy on to a long-term recovery path.

Everything else—for example, our ability to create real new jobs, to help the sick and needy, to improve education, to modernise housing and transport—depends on achieving this economic turn-around.
