§ Mr. John Garrettasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will list the schemes of assistance at present operating under section 8 of the Industry Act 1972, with the sums allocated to, and the amount so far granted from, each scheme.

Scheme Allocation under section 8 £ million Coal Fired Boiler Scheme 50 Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme 150 * The remainder of the £55 million allocated to this scheme is provided under the Science and Technology Act 1965. In addition, assistance under section 8 is available for large projects in manufacturing industry under the general criteria which my right hon. Friend announced on 17 July 1979.
