§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement as to what he expects in terms of local content requirements, such as steel, components, electronics and labour, in respect of the proposed Nissan plant.
§ Mr. MacGregorWhen Nissan's feasibility study was announced it was made clear that the company intended to achieve a very high local content, rising from 60 per cent. at the start of production to 80 per cent. as soon as practicable after full production was reached. I have no reason to believe that the company has changed its attitude.
