§ 23. Mr. Jayasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will discuss the self-regulatory system affecting the securities industry with the chairman of the Take-over Panel, the chairman of the Council for the Securities Industry and the chairman of the Stock Exchange.
§ Mr. BiffenMy officials are frequently in touch with these organisations, and my predecessors and I have met the chairmen from time to time to discuss matters of mutual interest. I am generally satisfied with the present combination of statutory and non-statutory supervision of companies and the securities markets.
